Oakleaf Hydrangea provides a dynamic large leaf texture and showy large panicles of white flowers in spring that often turn to a blush coloring as the flowers age. The dry seeds are used by birds. This is an excellent specimen or massing plant that besides its attractive large leaves, produces a fall color in colder areas. The leaves are dormant in cold areas and coarse looking in the late fall or winter in warmer areas.
Plant in shaded areas with good moisture. Good watering and patience is needed to establish Oakleaf Hydrangea in warmer areas, but they become quite hardy once well established and grown out.
