As with most neoregelias, 'Jill' is a low-growing bromeliad. Individual plants will be about 10" tall and slightly wider. It does, however, slowly spread into handsome colonies and is best used as a groundcover (small scale or large scale) in the landscape. The foliage of 'Jill' is quite exquisite: a rich reddish orange, with a galaxy of bright green speckles and stipples toward the center of the rosette. 'Jill' tolerates full sun but seems to do best with partial or dappled shade overhead.
Neoregelias are among the easier bromeliads to grow in the landscape. Give them a light, well-drained soil of moderate fertility and irrigate to ensure that the rosettes' central tanks always have some water in them. Do not overwater, however, or plant them in permanently wet areas or the plants will rot.
