Gold finger vine is a little-known plant that is becoming increasingly popular in South Florida due to its stunning beauty and ease of culture. It forms a leathery-leaved shrub or woody vine 6-10' tall that blooms nonstop all year round with spectacular bicolored flowers. The true flower is tubular and deep burning orange, surrounded by a golden tangerine calyx that is equally beautiful.
This plant can be grown as both a scandent (spilling-over) shrub or a vine. As a vine it needs a strong, sturdy support like a pergola to climb over. It prefers filtered to partial shade for best performance but will tolerate full sun. The soil should be moist but well-drained.
